Meet the Pastor

 

PASTOR MICKEY D. JETT

Pastor Mickey Jett was born in Chicago, IL,  and raised in Empire, AL. 

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Lee College which is now Lee University in Cleveland, TN, and earned his Masters of Divinity from Church of God Theological Seminary, also in Cleveland, TN.

He has a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Counseling from Columbus State University, in Columbus, GA.; and earned a Doctor of Ministry from Erskine Theological Seminary in Due West, South Carolina. 

Additionally, Pastor Mickey is a graduate of the Army’s Chaplain Officer Basic Courses, the Chaplain Advance Course, and Command General Staff College.

 As an Officer in the United States Army, Pastor Mickey served at Fort Bragg twice as both a battalion chaplain and a brigade chaplain.Pastor Mickey is a NCC certified Pastoral Counselor, and a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. 

 Battalion Chaplain Assignments

Battalion chaplain assignment were at Fort Bragg, N.C., for three years, Germany two years and Bosnia almost one.

 Brigade Chaplain Assignments

Brigade Chaplain assignments were with the Infantry at Fort Benning, 82d in Iraq for 15 months, and Redstone Arsenal for a transition period.

 Command Chaplain Assignments

He served as the Deputy Command Chaplain with both United States Army South & later the Army Materiel Command Deputy Forward  where he also served as the Aviation Missile Command Chaplain. He served for one year as the International Security Assistance Forces Command Chaplain,. Many other key assignments occurred for Pastor Mickey.

 Awards

Besides the Bronze Star, Pastor Mickey was awarded the Legion of Merit for honorable service to our Nation. 

Pastor Mickey is a NCC certified Pastoral Counselor, and a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. 

Pastor Mickey  has a passion for Huntsville, AL. In 2006, while stationed at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, he felt called to this area and instead of seeking further ministry positions in the Army, though everything pointed to future promotion and success, he elected to get out to serve this area of Alabama as a pastor.  

He has been happily married to Nanette, his wife, for over 18 years, and they have five wonderful children, Mickey, Ben, Colin, Luke, and Megan.
