“We have one enemy and it’s not a nation, not a political party nor is it a person in whom you are at odds with. the Bible tells us our true enemy is an entity by the name of Lucifer, Satan, or the devil. He is a Fallen Angel – once the Chief Cherabum of God. The devil hates Jesus, hates God’s chosen people, and hates Christ’s church. When I was in the Army, I was introduced to a leadership book called The Art of War. It’s a Military Leadership book dating to the 5th century BC. And it reads, “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the outcome of a hundred battles.” And If you are a Christian, you need to understand you’re in Daily Spiritual Warfare with this enemy. In Ezekiel 28 the Bible tells us that Lucifer was created in perfection, that his attributes are wisdom, beauty and music and that he was the closes angel to God to God’s presence. Lucifer walked among the fiery stones where God’s Shekinah Glory dwelt. Yet, Lucifer became Satan because of Pride. Lucifer had Pride in his wisdom… He had pride in his beauty… so he stopped worshipping God and became enamored with himself a… God therefore cast him out of His presence as a profane thing. Now think about this, when you walk in your own wisdom in your own appearance of good, then you are walking in Pride and it too will become your downfall… Pride has brought complete destruction to Satan’s future and it will destroy yours. God did not create the devil, he created Lucifer, who chose to be the devil. Where are your choices leading you? You should understand, you have a choice to make everyday. And the question is, will you choose to glorify God and serve Him or be enamored with self and oppose God. Therefore Peter tells us, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” So let us stay awake in the light, follow the Word of God, stay humble, and resist the the devil… Let’s continue to pray in the spirit, be faithful in attending worship, and serve the Lord Jesus Christ daily… Blessings on every one of you.
